In the driver's seat- Museum of Fine Arts - BOSTON

Lauren bought his first maneuverable masterpiece in 1963; it was a 1961 Morgan, which he ultimately had to sell because he couldn't afford to garage it in Manhattan. Today, however, his collection is sixty-seven cars strong and by all standards in a class by itself

More than any other modern artifact, the automobile dramatically changed the way we live. Like any art form, car design reflects changes in fashion, technology, and societal attitudes. In its first exhibition devoted to car design, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, displays 16 magnificent automobiles from the collection of worldrenowned designer and car enthusiast, Ralph Lauren, featuring some of history's most memorable cars.

Ralph Lauren says about his cars collection

"I've always seen cars as art--moving art," explains fashion titan Ralph Lauren. "While friends of mine were into collecting paintings, I felt that owning a rare and magnificently designed car allowed you to enjoy its visual qualities and also just get inside and enjoy driving it."
